"Lighter Steps" is a holistic weight management program that focuses on long-term sustainable change rather than short-term transformations. The cornerstone of weight management remains good food and healthy movement. Medication and surgery are appropriate for some people, but their effectiveness depends on a good foundation in healthy lifestyle. Our 4-week program is co-facilitated by both a GP and Accredited Practising Dietitian who use a compassionate, evidence-based approach to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to live a healthy, enjoyable lifestyle regardless of the size of your body.

In our 4-week program, we will examine together:

  • Why is weight an issue for so many of us in our society?
  • Why can't I keep the weight off?
  • What is weight stigma and why does it matter?
  • How do I make a healthy habit stick?
  • What is my relationship with food? What is my relationship with my body?
  • What is the right amount and type of food for me?
  • Will exercise ever be enjoyable for me?

We know you are the expert in your own body and no doubt you have picked up nuggets of wisdom along your life journey. In our workshops, you will have opportunity to share your stories, thoughts and tips to support each other, though this is not compulsory. Through interactive activities, we will come up with practical, actionable strategies for your day-to-day circumstances. With "Lighter Steps", we will create healthier habits together - one step at a time.


When: Saturday morning 8:30am-10:30am

Where: Growlife Medical, Sinnamon Park

Dates: 10 th May, 17 th May, 24 th May, 31st May

Payment: $400 for 4x 2hr sessions co-hosted by 2x health practitioners (GP and dietitian). No Medicare rebates available. May be eligible for private health rebates depending on level of cover.
