Innovative music therapy for Brisbane seniors and their carers
CareMusic is a group music therapy program designated for seniors and their carers, brought to you by registered music therapist, Amy Cooper. It is a evidence-based program in which music is used to actively support older people as they strive to improve their health and wellbeing.
Participants will encounter meaningful live music experiences and use music to address the challenges that arise in ageing. No previous music experience or learning is required. All abilities welcome.
The CareMusic program aims to achieve goals such as reducing anxiety and agitation, experiencing reminiscence, physical exercise, and meaningful social connection.
It is highly suitable for those with:

• Parkinson’s and movement disorders
• Mental health concerns
• Frailty
• Chronic illness
It also includes:
• Development of personalised playlists
• Use of high-quality instruments and recorded music
