Growlife Medical Oxley is a Family General Practice, located within the Canossa Hospital complex. Our Oxley Medical Centre has skilled GPs, as well as Lactation Consultants, Nurses, Midwifes, Psychologists, Gastroenterologists, Paediatrician and more. We welcome patients of all ages, from both the Canossa Health Complex and the public.

Dr Clare Applegarth
General Practitioner
MBBS, FRACGP, Diploma in Child Health, BA, BSc.
Dr Clare Applegarth graduated from University of Queensland in 2012 and has worked in General Practice since 2016. Her career has spanned diverse clinical settings across Far North Queensland, the Torres Strait and Brisbane. Clare enjoys all aspects of General Practice and has particular interest in child health, women’s health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and diabetes care. She holds the Diploma of Child Health, as well as the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health.

Dr Aaron Chambers
BSc, MBBS(Hons), FRACGP, Dip Child Health
Dr Chambers has worked in General Practice since 2006. He is passionate about family practice, including paediatrics and obstetric care. After completing his medical degree with honours at the University of Queensland, Dr Chambers served as an RAAF Doctor, conducting humanitarian missions and evacuating wounded servicemen from the Middle East. He also consults at our Sherwood and Highgate Hill clinics.

Dr Rachel Dash
BAppSc(MedSc) MBBS(hons) FRACGP
Rachel obtained her medical degree from The Australian National University in 2014, graduating with the university medal. She subsequently obtained her fellowship to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2020. Dr Rachel Dash has completed residencies in paediatrics and more recently undergone additional training in palliative medicine. Dr Dash's interest areas include chronic diseases management, palliative medicine, paediatric and adolescent health, and women's health.
Dr Dash also holds the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health.

Dr Emma Fist
Dr Emma Fist enjoys all areas of general practice and has a particular interest in women’s health, including antenatal shared care and contraception. Emma is trained in the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants and hormone-releasing intrauterine devices (IUD). She also enjoys paediatric health and has completed a Diploma in Child Health through the University of Sydney. She also consults at our Highgate Hill clinic.

Dr Elizabeth Hay
General Practitioner

Dr Elizabeth Hay has over 18 years of experience as a GP, working in both urban and rural practices. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2003. In addition to the full scope of general practice, Elizabeth has a special interest in Antenatal care and Paediatrics, Skin cancer surgery, Women’s health, Sports Medicine, Family Medicine, and Migraines and Headaches. Please note Dr Hay's books are currently closed to new patients.

Dr Jill Howard
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Jill Howard is a caring and holistic GP who loves Family Medicine. Jill is aligned with the Mater Mother's Hospital for providing pregnancy shared care, and has a wealth of experience with care for young children. She also provides skin cancer checks and minor procedures, as well as thoughtful Geriatric Care. She also consults at our Sinnamon Park clinic.

Dr Leila McFerran
MBBS, Dip Obs, FRACGP
Dr Leila McFerran is a long-time GP in Oxley and the Gailes area. She is committed to providing quality General Practice care to multiple generations of the families she cares for. She has particular skills in managing patients with multiple, complex conditions including diabetes, heart disease, chronic lung disease and thyroid disorders. Dr Anthony Turner

Dr Anthony (Tony) Turner is a Queensland trained medical practitioner with over 30 years’ experience in general practice.
He enjoys all aspects of family general practice and has a special interest in sports and musculoskeletal medicine, aerospace medicine, men's health, adult medicine and minor skin surgery. Tony has a Masters in Sports Medicine from UNSW and is also a qualified CASA DAME.

Dr Daniel Varma

Dr Daniel Varma graduated from Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, having previously completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Griffith University Gold Coast. In 2022 Daniel completed his fellowship in General Practice. Daniel’s main interest in General Practice is managing patients with Musculoskeletal and Internal medicine problems. Daniel has roles working as Team Doctor with both the men and women Brisbane Roar A-League and W-League football sides. Daniel also consults at our
Highgate Hill clinic.

Dr Fanar Yacoub
MBChB, FRACP
Dr Yacoubis a general and community paediatrician who has been practicing in Australia for over 10 years. She did her general paediatric training in Queensland. Dr Yacoub deals with different paediatric presentations on a regular basis, from assessing growth and development of the newborn and preschool children; managing acute and chronic conditions; to assisting in managing a large proportion of developmental and behavioural presentations like ASD, ADHD, Anxiety and childhood trauma in children up to 18 years of age.
