NDIS Music Therapy

For adults seeking additional support for mental well-being or physical functioning, Registered Music Therapist Amy Cooper, runs individual music therapy appointments at our Sherwood practice. Amy has appointments available for those with plan-managed or self-managed NDIS funding. No previous experience with music is required to participate in a music therapy program.



What is Music Therapy?

Music therapy can assist adults seeking to address:

 

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Mental health illnesses
  • Chronic pain
  • Social and communication challenges
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • ASD
  • Brain injury or stroke
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Other physical and neurological conditions

 



Music Therapy sessions include:

 

  • Singing
  • Song writing
  • Playing instruments – guitar, ukulele, drums and percussion
  • Lyric and music analysis
  • Developing playlists
  • Music for relaxation

Types of Appointments available:


· 30-minute Individual Session ($97)


· 45-minute Individual Session ($145)


· 60-Minute Individual Session ($180)


Please note: if you are unable to access NDIS funding, non-NDIS fees are available.  


All appointments include an individualised program tailored to the needs of the patient, the use of high-quality instruments, song writing and recording equipment, and assistance with finding suitable resources.
