Jessica Cartwright

Dietitian
BENS, MDietSt, APD

Jessica is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, who has recently graduated from a Masters of Dietetics at the top of her class at the University of Queensland. She is up-to-date on all the latest nutrition evidence and guidelines, which she uses to shape her practice. Her  clinical interest area is chronic disease management. This includes, but is not limited to conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity and kidney disease.

Working by a philosophy that completely opposes a ‘one size fits all’ approach, Jessica believes there is one million and one different ways to achieve any health outcome, and that intervention individualisation is the key to success! With her enthusiastic and bubbly personality, she aspires to empower and motivate her clients to integrate effective and feasible dietary changes into their lifestyle. Jessica is a big believer in the saying ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ and so will strive to create a space where the client feels comfortable to communicate freely about concerns, barriers or ideas relating to a health goal. She also believes in a food-first approach, and that food and mealtimes should always be a source of happiness and enjoyment!

Outside of her position at Growlife Medical, Jessica is a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland, investigating the nutritional impact of a sugar-sweetened beverage alternative containing native ingredients. She also tutors university students in nutrition and science, and coaches primary school girls in netball. After volunteering at the Wesley Hospital for several years, she now works there as a nutrition assistant, helping patients with allergens and other dietary preferences find suitable meal options during their hospital stay. Safe to say, Jessica is happy as long as she is helping others!

In her spare time, Jessica loves playing netball, cooking and experimenting with food (especially desserts!), watching Marvel movies, and spending precious time with family and friends.

Jessica offers one-on-one consultations and runs our Diabetes Group Program. She consults at our Sherwood and Fairfield clinics.
