You may be looking for more specific information about Intrauterine Contraceptives or IUDs.

Services provided

  • Contraception – Your GP can talk you through the various contraceptive options available and individualise management to suit your needs. Many GPs at Growlife Medical are trained in the insertion of sub-dermal hormonal implants and hormonal intra-uterine devices.
  • Cervical screening
  • STI screening and sexual health
  • Urinary incontinence and vaginal prolapse
  • Gynaecological conditions such as PCOS and endometriosis
  • Period problems such as heavy periods or irregular periods
  • Pre-conception and discussion about fertility
  • Antenatal and postnatal pregnancy care
  • Menopause
  • Breast examinations

When addressing any of these, it is important to address the underlying problem and to have a clear understanding of your options.  GPs take the time to listen, and can help you with questions like: Do you need to avoid oestrogen containing contraceptives? Do you prefer to be able to start and stop medication yourself? Does your bleeding require investigation?
